Dr. Deardrian Carver serves as the Chief Customer Relations Officer with the Virginia Retirement System (VRS), where she leads the Customer Relations Department, focusing on customer contact center counseling services, education and training for internal staff and external employer agencies, and outreach retirement counseling services to VRS members.
With nearly 25 years as a senior VRS leader, she has managed multiple teams and projects, including serving as business owner for several large agile technology projects to improve customer service. Currently, she is a key leader and business owner for the VRS multi-phased project to enhance online self-service functionality for VRS members and retirees, including online retirement and beneficiary management.
She has also served as an adjunct professor with Bluefield College and taught Organizational Design and Development strategies. Dr. Carver holds a Doctor of Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University and a Master of Business Administration from Averett University. In her spare time, Dr. Carver works with young adults teaching independent living skills and financial literacy, and she is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc
